Growth of medicine expenditure strictly contained within given frame
The wholesale value of medicines was 1,848 million euros in 2007 and includes the sales to pharmacies, hospitals and grocery stores. Sales were 6.2% higher than in 2006. The value of preion-only medicine sales were 1,648 million euros while that of self-care medicines 201 million euros. Compared with the previous year, the sales of preion-only medicines
were 5.5% and self-care medicines 13.4% up.
