Biotech Earnings: Second-Quarter Preview

 

 

Here we go. It's only a matter of days before Genentech (DNA - Cramer's Take - Stockpickr) kicks off the biotech sector's second-quarter earnings season.

 

The quarter proved an interesting one -- Biogen Idec (BIIB - Cramer's Take - Stockpickr) fended off advances from activist investor Carl Icahn; Genzyme (GENZ - Cramer's Take - Stockpickr) closed its deal with Isis Pharmaceuticals (ISIS - Cramer's Take - Stockpickr); some of Amgen's (AMGN - Cramer's Take - Stockpickr) beleaguered anemia drugs plateaued, and Celgene (CELG - Cramer's Take - Stockpickr) won a stream of Wall Street upgrades.
