According to the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), global foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows fell by 16 percent to USD 1.52 trillion. The decrease runs in stark contrast to other macroeconomic variables (GDP, growth in trade volume, etc.), which saw significant improvements in 2017.
