1. From the Chair
In my first full year as Chair of the Foundation for Research, Science and Technology I have seen many positive developments as the Foundation continues to develop its focus on investing for results.
My thanks to all Board members for their contribution throughout the year. In particular, thanks to Dr Bronwen
Connor and Dr Diana Hill, who both ended their terms as Board members during the year, for the distinguished service they rendered to the Foundation.
We welcomed two new board members this year, Phil O’Reilly and Dr William Rolleston. Both bring valuable knowledge about the business sector and the commercialisation of research and we look forward to the contribution they will make.
It is pleasing to see an increasing awareness of the importance of innovation in New Zealand’s future development.
