1.1 Purpose and scope

This sector investment plan (SIP) sets out the priorities for investment of funds in the Biological Industries Research Fund through the 2014 science investment round. Up to $7.6 million per annum will become available from maturing contracts on 1 October 2014.

This SIP is an update of the 2013 SIP and lists general investment priority areas. Specific research questions in each investment priority area will be developed in consultation with the sector and will be included in a request for proposals (RfP) that will be issued in November 2013.
