You are cordially invited to attend this two day conference in beautiful southern Utah to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the Kaiparowits Basin Project (KBP), a collaborative, interdisciplinary look at the Late Cretaceous record of south-central Utah/north-central Arizona. All are encouraged to submit a paper within the scope of the meeting’s theme; however, from presented papers a volume focused on the south-central Utah region will be published. Any and all paleontology-geology papers featuring the southern Utah region in whole or in part would be considered for inclusion in this volume. Papers would not have to feature new research. Well-illustrated overviews of fossil groups in stratigraphic order and updated summaries of the geologic record are also being sought to create an "atlas" of figured material and data for future researchers. Papers not selected for inclusion in the book would still be published as abstracts with the program.
Make plans now to participate in the 8th CFR! We are looking for papers and sponsors:
Call for papers: A proceedings volume will be published by the Utah Geological Survey for the meeting, with all pre-peer reviewed manuscripts submitted prior to Nov. 30, 2008. Presentations on management issues, and success stories between various organizations, individuals, and land management agencies are of particular interest.

Contact Jim Kirkland, Utah Geological Survey, with any other questions on format and editorial procedures.
Call for sponsors: We need Sponsors to help offset the costs of various events at the meeting (social events, field trips, etc.) and for supporting the attendance by students and invited participants from other countries. More details will be forthcoming on this website, but if you are interested, please contact either of our co-chairs for more information on how you can help.
A BLM symposium on advances in Late Cretaceous paleontology in the Escalante/Grand Staircase National Monument will immediately follow the 8th CFR in the same venue. Details to be posted soon.
