The 8th Korea-Japan Joint Symposium on Vascular Biology
Greeting
It is my great honor and pleasure to announce that The 18th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Vascular Biology and Medicine Organization and The 8th Korea-Japan Joint Symposium on Vascular Biology will be held on December 1st to 3rd at Osaka, Japan.
The venue of the meeting will be the Umeda Sky Building, famous for its floating garden, and one of the landmarks of Osaka, located in the vicinity of the Japan Railway (JR) Osaka Station. Throughout the meeting period, the Umeda Sky Building is surrounded by many events for Christma's, and I hope that the participants will enjoy this good atmosphere.
The theme of the meeting is: "End of The Beginning: A New Era of Vascular Biology & Medicine". Due to great contributions from the field of Vascular Biology and Medicine in Japan, topics like therapeutic angiogenesis and iPS cells are becoming worldwide themes, and basic research is on the way to be translated into clinical treatments. I hope that in this meeting we can look together to the future of the Vascular Biology and Medicine.
We invited Prof. Yusuke Nakamura (Tokyo University), Prof. Shin-ichi Nishikawa (RIKEN), Prof. Takashi Kadowaki (Tokyo University), and Prof. Issei Komuro (Osaka University) for Special Lectures. Plenary Lecture and Key Note Lecture to provide Up-to-date information will also be held at every symposium. Starting from the Invited Lecture Prof. T. Kurts (University of California, SF), we are expecting many international participants, and for the convenience of all participants, simultaneous translation will be provided at the Room 1 of the meeting.
Besides YIA and Poster Award, we are preparing some others awards for young researches. Moreover, we are idealizing Special Lectures to attend the broad interest of the participants that will be announced accordingly at the meeting homepage.
We are preparing a unique and lively meeting, and I hope we can enjoy together the outstanding works in Vascular Biology and Medicine.
