On behalf of the Organizing Committee, I am honored to invite you to The XVIIth Congress of The International Society for Human and Animal Mycology 2009 (ISHAM 2009), which will be held in Tokyo, Japan, May 25 - 29, 2009, along with Satellite Symposia in Beijing, China on May 30-31, 2009. The medical mycology field has developed enormously with substantial contributions made to society over the years thanks to enthusiastic and dedicated research by scientists around the world. Yet, the environment continues to present humankind with challenges that we are compelled to address.ISHAM 2009 will be convened under the theme of “Medical Mycology in the 21st Century: Scientific Base and Anticipated Challenges.” We will prepare a substantial and diverse scientific program, and look forward to sharing the latest developments in our field and new contributions from renowned global specialists with our colleagues from around the world.
