Nanostructure Fabrication
The Gordon Research Conference on Nanostructure Fabrication focuses on the latest approaches to creating nanostructures, as well as the properties and applications of such structures. Topics covered will include patterning at and beyond the limits of lithography; atom and molecule manipulation; self-assembly and directed self-assembly; nanowire, nanotube and graphene synthesis; biological and biomolecular assembly and fabrication; and device integration. Also covered are applications of nanofabrication in fields such as nanoelectronics and computing; nanomagnetics and nanomechanics; nanooptics and nanophotonics; nanobiology and nanomedicine; and renewable energy. The conference brings together scientists and engineers working at the forefront of Nanoscience who will describe their research in depth. It will also provide an opportunity for junior scientists, including post-docs and graduate students, to present their work in poster sessions that run throughout the week. Some poster presenters will be selected for short talks. The conference takes place in an intimate setting at the Tilton School in New Hampshire, and it provides ample opportunity for all participants to interact with one another throughout the week at meals, coffee and refreshment breaks or the many poster sessions/social hours. Overall, the atmosphere is informal and highly collegial. In addition, for those attendees looking for a break from intellectual pursuits, swimming and various other sports and recreational activities will also be available, as well as scheduled hikes and raft or canoe trips on the Winnipesaukee River.
A list of preliminary session topics and speakers is displayed below (discussion leaders are noted in italics). The detailed program is currently being developed by the Conference Chair and will be available by March 18, 2010. Please check back for updates.
