Transglutaminases In Human Disease Processes

Application Deadline
Applications for this meeting must be submitted by June 27, 2010. Please apply early, as some meetings become oversubscribed (full) before this deadline. If the meeting is oversubscribed, it will be stated here. Applications will still be accepted for oversubscribed meetings. However, they will only be considered by the Conference Chair if more seats become available due to cancellations.

The 2010 Gordon Conference on "Transglutaminases in Human Disease Processes" is the first Gordon Conference to focus on this rapidly expanding field. The meeting will cover cutting-edge research on the biology of transglutaminases and the role of this family of enzymes in disease processes. Sessions will cover recent advances relating to the following topics:

  • Transglutaminases in cancer and inflammatory disease
  • Transglutaminases in celiac, neurodegeneration, and cardiovascular disease
  • Transglutaminases and intracellular signal transduction
  • Transglutaminase function in matrix remodeling and protein crosslinking
  • Transglutaminases as therapeutic targets
  • Transglutaminase regulation of cell survival and differentiation
  • Transglutaminases in industrial applications

This conference will bring together an international group of experts working in the rapidly expanding field with a goal of presenting and discussing the most recent advances in this field. Each talk will be structured to include ample time for discussion. Discussion will cover key issues of current relevance to the field and the implications of the work for future development of this area. There will be ample opportunity for informal discussion among attendees during the meeting. In particular this meeting is designed to provide an opportunity for young investigators to participate and interact with established experts in the field.
