Mitochondria & Chloroplasts - Gordon Research Seminar :Partnerships That Led To Eukaryotic Life
Meeting Overview
The Gordon Research Seminar on Mitochondria & Chloroplasts is a unique forum for graduate students, post-docs, and other scientists with comparable levels of experience and education to present and exchange new data and cutting edge ideas.
The focus of this meeting is to discuss the fascinating biology of the two main, bacteria-like, organelles in eukaryotic cells and their importance for eukaryotic life. The meeting will probe important biological questions in a wide spectrum of topics including organelle dysfunction, stress and disease, signaling and dynamics, and evolution, biosynthesis and metabolism
Application Instructions
The meeting will feature approximately 15 talks and 2 poster sessions. All attendees are expected to actively participate in the GRS either by giving an oral presentation or presenting a poster. Therefore, all applications must include an abstract. The abstract must contain no more than 600 words that include the significance of your work, the results you have obtained, and their interpretation. In the field listed as "Activities", please enter the lab in which you are currently working and describe briefly the general line of research conducted by the principal investigator. Also include the importance of your work in the context of the research conducted in your lab. In this field, you may also enter any relevant publication(s) regarding your work.
The Chairs will select speakers from abstracts submitted by March 10, 2010. Those applicants who are not chosen for talks and those who apply after the deadline to be considered for an oral presentation will be expected to present a poster. In order to participate, you must submit an application by June 19, 2010.
