Noble Metal Nanoparticles - Preparation, Modeling And Applications
This new Gordon Conference on Noble Metal Nanoparticles will define the frontiers of science associated with metal nanostructures. The chemical and materials aspects of plasmonics—a field that uses metals to manipulate light on the nanoscale through surface plasmons— has exploded recently because of simultaneous breakthroughs in synthesis, characterization, and theory. Conference session topics range from Advances in Synthesizing and Assembling Metal Nanoparticles to Applications in Biomedicine, Catalysis, Energy, and the Environment to New Nanoscale Tools for Probing Structure and Non-linear Properties. The Conference will bring together leading and young scientists in three often-separated but interrelated roles—makers, modelers, and measurers—in order to provide opportunities for brainstorming and collectively identifying new fundamentals and applications based on noble metal nanoparticles. We strongly encourage all attendees to participate in the poster presentations in the afternoons and evenings.
A list of preliminary session topics and speakers is displayed below (discussion leaders are noted in italics). The detailed program is currently being developed by the Conference Chair and will be available by February 20, 2010. Please check back for updates.
