Plenary Sessions

Seven plenary sessions make up the core of the ISSCR Annual Meeting, and focus on key areas of science in the fields of stem cell research and regenerative medicine. Plenary sessions showcase notable speakers who can inspire and invigorate attendees with cutting-edge research and thought. Award lectures and other featured lectures are also presented in the plenary sessions. New in 2019, plenary sessions will use tissue type as a common theme to explore innovation and discoveries from a wide variety of perspectives: molecular, cellular, animal model-based and clinical. 15 abstract selected speakers will be included in the plenary program. Organized by the ISSCR 2019 Annual Meeting Program Committee.

Concurrent Sessions

The concurrent sessions cover topics from across the spectrum of stem cell research. Each session, framed by a brief topic overview, includes one or two invited speakers whose work highlights leading research in the field. The session is rounded out with up to six abstract-selected speakers who, combined with the invited talks, give an excellent snapshot of the most current work on the topic. The five concurrent sessions run in parallel and attendees are encouraged to move between sessions to hear talks of interest. Concurrent sessions are held Thursday, Friday, and Saturday afternoons and are organized by the ISSCR 2019 Annual Meeting Program Committee.

Focus Sessions

Focus Sessions provide in-depth coverage of specific topics of interest, chosen and presented by select academic and industry groups. Held on Wednesday morning, these educational opportunities in science, society, and education are organized by members and open to all meeting attendees. Schedule to be posted in early spring, 2019.

Innovation Showcases

Exhibitors feature new and updated products, services, tools, and technologies in Innovation Showcases, and demonstrate how they can be used in laboratory and other settings. Learn about how the latest product offerings can enhance your career in these 30 or 60-minute presentations. Innovation Showcases are held on Thursday and Friday of the meeting, in the mornings and over lunch breaks. Interested in hosting an Innovation Showcase?

Poster Sessions

Poster sessions are a staple of the ISSCR Annual Meeting and are the place for engaging, one-on-one discussions with researchers. Three, two-hour long sessions will be held in the exhibit hall on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday evenings and begin with a reception of light bites. More than 1,400 posters are displayed in topic-focused areas mapped out around the poster floor. Each poster is displayed for a day and the presenter must be at the poster for one hour of the poster session to discuss their work. Odd-numbered posters are presented in the first hour and even-numbered posters in the second hour.

Exhibit Hall
The hub of the meeting is the Exhibit Hall,

where you can engage directly with more than 100 companies showcasing the latest research tools, technologies, publications, and more. The Exhibit Hall also hosts the nightly Poster Sessions and receptions, and provides opportunitites to relax and recharge in ISSCR Central.
