JOHNS HOPKINS AS AN ENTERPRISE
Johns Hopkins is a major Maryland employ-er, purchaser of goods and services, a sponsor
of major construction projects and a magnet for students and visitors. In fiscal year 2010,
we estimate that the Johns Hopkins Institu-tions directly or indirectly accounted for
nearly $9.98 billion in economic output in Maryland, and 96,861 jobs ? about 3.8 per-cent of all wage-and-salary jobs in the state.
