1. Introduction
University-Industry Science Partnership (UNISPAR)
Programme since 1993
- It aims to promote interaction between universities and the productive sector with emphasis on research for industrial innovation.
-In 2002, the Division of Science Policy and Sustainable Development integrated
science and technology parks (STPs) cooperation into the UNISPAR Programme.
-It is part of UNESCO actions in assisting its member States to enhance the leverage
of science, technology and innovation (STI).
Nurturing mechanism
1 Human resource (Human-ware)
-Capacity building
-Technical Assistance
2. Physical infrastructure
-Basic infrastructures: Pre-incubator, incubator and ITC cluster
-Secondary infrastructure: (electronic)
3. Non-physical support system (Software)
-Policy (usually UNESCO intervention by STI policy review)
-Finance (venture capital)
-Entrepreneurship
