BDI President Hans-Peter Keitel :
≫If you want to stay in business, you’re going to have to make some changes≪

 

Hans-Peter-Keitel assumed the office of BDI President in one of the worst economic crises of the last decades. He refuses to accept any exaggerated pessimism, instead emphasising Germany’s need to seize the current crises as an opportunity. ≫Germany has to learn its lessons from the crisis in order to emerge from it stronger than before.≪

 

In times like these, the office of BDI President is more than a great honour. It is, above all, a great responsibility. At the same time, it provides the opportunity to show that the German economy is much more capable, and better, than the trite headlines about bankers and managers would have us believe. The German economy creates real values ? even when things are tough, as they will be in the coming years. The only proper response to the crisis is honesty in our dealings with each other. As Alfred Herrhausen once said: ≫We must say what we think and do what we say.≪
