1. 유전자치료제 기술개요

유전자치료제의 적용범위는 넓고 치료법의 한계에 도달한 암 및 심혈관질환 등의 난치성 질환 분야에 가능성이 높은 치료법으로 대두되고 있으며, 유전자치료제 산업은 이러한 각종 난치성 질병을 근원적으로 치료하는 신산업으로서 유전자 지도가 완성되고 각종 유전자의 기능이 밝혀지면서 더욱 활성화 될 것으로 예상하고 있음

 

가. 유전자치료제란?
1) 유전자치료제의 정의 및 특징
□ "유전자 치료"란 고전적인 의미에서 유전자 이상에 기인하는 질병을 치료하기 위하여 정상유전자를 환자의 체내에 도입하여 치료하는 기술을 말하며, 보다 광범위하게 다음과 같이 정의될 수 있음


○ "유전자 치료"란 세포에 유전자를 도입하여 질병을 치료하거나 예방하는 방법을 의미하며, 암 심혈관질환, 선천성 유전병 등의 소위 난치성 질환으로 분류되는 대부분의 질환이 치료대상이 됨.......계속
